Solar Net Meter Agreement
Many consumers who are considering going solar have heard the term „net metering,” but aren`t sure what it means. According to the DIVE utility, „the legislation proposes a competitive tendering procedure for independent solar developers, which the legislator says will help reduce costs by using market-oriented solutions to develop renewable projects. The bill would also create a Green Source Rider program that would allow large supply customers to take control of their energy purchases. ` Denmark introduced net metering for private photovoltaic installations in mid-1998 for a pilot period of four years. In 2002, the net metering system was extended for a further four years, until the end of 2006. March 2019 – Evergy (Westar &KCP&L) has agreed to submit a new tariff in the old tariff to Westar`s KCC protection customers who installed solar before 1.10.2018 and KCP&L customers installed before 20.12.18, eliminating their application fee. In order to make further progress, the agreement included Evergy`s commitment to cooperate with the CEBC to find reasonable solutions that allow the solar industry to grow. . . .
