Uup Collective Bargaining Agreement
This additional backlog affects approximately 80,000 New York State employees, including those of UUP, the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA) and other state bargaining units. This expansion (which benefits Empire Plan participants outside the state regardless of the bargaining unit) is a direct result of our intercession in the Joint Health Benefits Committee (JCHB). In response to requests from teachers living in countries that do not have networked integration, we raised this issue within the JCHB. In response to our intercession, the Ministry of Public Service agreed to look into the problem (which was previously rejected and long overdue) and has now found that providing national access to network providers is justified. This is the agreement that was reached to represent the contract between the New York State Branch (Governor`s Office) and United University Professions (UUP) for the period 2016-2022. The State recognizes UUP as the exclusive representative of collective bargaining and negotiations on wages, wages, working time and other conditions of employment of staff working in positions within the Bargaining Unit for Professional Services of the State University. The union also negotiates agreements with the state on evaluation and promotion procedures, including the memorandum of understanding between the university and the UUP on an evaluation and promotion system for professionals. Below are links to .pdf downloadable versions of the provisional contract and a page with the strengths of the contract: UUP`s new contract includes an employer contribution to DCAAcounts for employees represented by UUP registered as a DCAAcount participant for the year 2018.
